WW2 49th Infantry Division (West Riding) Original Printed Formation Sign Designation Flash
3rd Pattern as worn later in WW2, from April 1943 onwards. In bright unissued condition, mint.
The 49th.Division were part of 21st Army Group and landed with the invasion forces in Normandy in June 1944.

Unissued but folded over for wear. A bit gruby but scarce.
As confirmed in BoBD (jon Mills) No 589 but not in the form of an arm of service stripe but as a larger piece of regimental ribbon. Yellow to left as facing the view.

An early looking badge in very good unissued condition as worn by Welsh cadets in this historic town.
Not to be confused with the WW1 patch to the 11th Battalion South Wales Borderers, which was of a similar design. However, I suppose it could fill a gap as looks quite similar.
