Decoratively Hand Carved Indian Northumberland Fusiliers Wooden Smoking / Cigar Box

Large decorative box with the St George killing the dragon and the motto V Northumberland Fusiliers below. Carved with other dragons and embellishments to side. Lining wood insert in good condition but absent to one side. Hinges functional but key for lock is missing. I have seen another such box to the London Scottish and it had its maker's label. It was identical in design and size the this box except to a different regiment. The maker is given as Canemede, Wood Carver and Papier Machie Maker, Shinagar, Kashmir. A photocopy of the photo confirming these details will be supplied. cannot imagine how much a hand carved box of this quality would cost today. Circa 27.5cm by 17cm by 9cm. A few little nibbles to the edges and the design plus small amount of damage to back corner, but 8 out of 10 condition.
