Attractive Silver Hallmarked Regimental Boxing Medallion / Watch Fob - Attributed to 5th ( Territorial ) Northumberland Fusilier

An attractive hallmarked silver boxing medallion / watch fob, neatly engraged to reverse "5th Bn, N.F., Welters, Runner-up, 17.4.31"

A little bit of sleuthing in the St George's Gazette confirms that this was most probably awarded to Fusilier Bingham of B Company. Medallion is 28mm in diameter, in good condition with some minor wear and light marks. Comes with a page of research and a report of the bout against Fusilier Gordon, who beat him on points. Great image of pugilists in raised relief to the obverse. Birminghan Hallmarks with date letter 'F' for 1930.
