Scarce Durham Light Infantry ( DLI ) Territorial Battalion Officer 's Side Cap and Silver Plated South Africa Scroll Cap Badge

Crown to reverse of badge stamped "P" for silver plated and with maker's name JR Gaunt London. Badge has two lugs (e-w) and is secured behind the sewn-in lining, which makes cleaning the badge difficult, but also stops it going walkies! it is lightly tarnished and needs a good clean.

One silver plated cap button to front ( the other sadly is missing). This is King's crown and is a particularly scarce button. Named in the lining to " J. J. March ". Cap in very good condition.

Condition report - one button missing, minor moth pin prick holes x2, slight moth edge nibble to rim, one small thread for retaining side hook broken. Displays really well from outside, just needs that extra button!
