Berwick on Tweed Police Large Pattern White Metal Button, pre 1921

A scarce early police button, circa 26mm in diameter, fixed shank and maker marked Gardiner and Company, London. The central device of bear and tree is the town's crest.

The Berwick-upon-Tweed police were merged into Northumberland Police in 1921.
