Small size cast brass SDF officers cap / collar badge with two original loops to the reverse (one possibly strengthened with silver solder). Circa 2.5cm tall. An armed native tribesman upon a camel above a tablet bearing the letters "SDF"
The Sudan Defence Force (SDF) was a British Army unit formed in 1925, as its name indicates, to maintain the borders of the Sudan under the British administration. During WW2, it also served beyond the Sudan in the East African Campaign and in the Western Desert Campaign.
