Kenya Regiment (TF) Silver Anodised Cap Badge with Collar Badge

A scarce silver coloured anodised aluminium cap badge and accompanying collar (right facing), both with two original loops to the reverse (some bending with service wear) .

If memory serves me the KR changed the colour of the charging buffalo from brass to silver in recognition of their formal affiliation with the 60th KRRC in 1956. As the Mau Mau emergency had all but ended by this date, the regiment did not see any further service other than its usual territorial drill nights and annual camps and was disbanded in 1963, the year Kenya attained its independence. This is a quite a hard badge to come by. Circa 1956 - 1963. Only the aa collar is shown in Renfrew et al.
