Anglo-Boer / Anglo-Boere Oorlog Medal 1899 - 1902, to a Boer Burger, first pattern of issue

This is the first pattern of this medal (as issued between 1921 and 1937) with correct ribbon, which is correctly impressed to:

Burger S.J.H. De Lange of the Pretoria Commando.

There is only one man listed on the roll with this rank and name. His full name is given as Salvidoor Jacobus H. De Lange. He would have worn the medal with the Transvaal face to the front (the side with the single shaft on the wagon). Copy of relevant page to be supplied from the roll.

The Medal is in poor condition in numismatic terms, with edge bruises and it also appears to have had a replacement suspender fitted at some point. However, a scarce medal to the irregular Dutch farmers who gave the British Empire a good run for its money!
