Lancashire Mounted Volunteers (later the 1st Lancashire Light Horse Volunteers) Officers Large Pattern Silver Plated Button

The letters LMV below a QVC and above a rose. Circa 26mm in diameter, fixed shank, maker marked Jennens & Co London. Silver is extremely dark toned and wear to plated finish on the high points otherwise in good condition. Upon the change of title to' Light Horse' this pattern gave way to a silver plated button with the Royal Ducal coronet over a strap which enclosed the Arms of the Duchy of Lancaster, upon the strap. ‘THE FIRST LANCASHIRE LIGHT HORSE VOLUNTEERS’ (thank you to Daniel B for the information).
