WW1 The Wounded Stripe official uniform sleeve badge

A scarce original First World War period brass 'Wound Badge', the reverse stamped in relief 'AB ) Prov Pat,7342-17) 40'. Backing plate absent. Good condition, complete with two loop fittings and split pin. Circa 52mm in length.

Authorised for wear by Army Order 249 of August 1916 and this was only issued in this size up to 1922 (discontinued for wear on uniform by Army Order 434 of 1922).
