Scarce Force 281 Dodecanese District Cloth Formation Sign

An embroidered example removed from uniform. In good overall condition with about 70% of black backing remaining. The badge depicts a red leaping mountain goat (representing the HQ staff who mainly came from the Middle East mountain training school) over three blue wavy lines (representing amphibious operations) on a pale khaki drill background.

Force 281 occupied Rhodes, Syme and raided many of the enemy held islands of the Dodecanese.
