Old Contemptibles WSC Miniature Bronze Lapel Badge

These pop up occasionally but are still a mystery. The date 1914 no longer present and replaced by the letters WSC. My favourite possible suggestion is that it stands for War Service Comrades. Any information weclome. Small at circa 2.3cms tall. Maker marked Birminham Medal Co. Slight touch of verdigris otherwise in good condition.
