A good original First World War period 'Athletes' Volunteer Force 1914 Volunteer Training Corps lapel badge'; gilded brass oval example, depicting crossed rifles within dark blue enamel title surround, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini, Bolton'. Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, slight spot of verdigris otherwise gilt finish remains bright. Circa 32mm tall.
