Anglo - Boer War Damants Horse (DH) Tigers Brass Slouch Hat Badge

A rare small Damant's Horse sheet brass theatre made slouch hat badge with two original loops the reverse. the "Tiger", being the Rimington Tigers(Guides) previously. Worn from 1901 to 1902 only. Circa 3.4cms tall.

The unit was raised in South Africa originally Rimington's Guides. They wore Leopard skin on their slouch hat, and rather incongruously were known as "Rimington's Tiger's". This unit became "Damant's Horse", also known as "Damant's Tigers" in January 1901.
