Devon Special Constable Constabulary Police Enamel & Gilt Lapel Buttonhole Mufti Badge

Post 1926 pattern, in very good condition with no damage to the enamel and original horseshoe fitting, maker marked JR Gaunt & Son, London. Slight mark to gilt on top right of shield otherwise gilt bright and in good condition. The red enamel lion is scarce, and according to the reference cited below indicates a different rank presumably a more senior rank than the pattern with the plain lion. Perhaps as issued to Sergeants?
