2nd Battalion The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) Sergeants and Pipers White Metal Glengarry Badge
A large-pattern, die struck white metal, glengarry badge as worn by sergeants and pipers of the 2nd Battalion of The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) with two original lug fastenings (east and west) in very good condition with all the fiddly bits present and correct. Circa 79mm wide (just over 3 inches) x 67mm high.
Gaylor confirms the sergeants and 2nd Battalion pipers wore a pattern 3 inches wide as opposed to 2.5 inches / 5.9cm wide as in the case of those worn by Other Ranks. Bloomer claims also worn by officers in this size, but most probably such badges would have been of silver and die cast.
K&K No 1989 / Bloomer book 2, reference 104 refers.
