WW1 The Royal Irish Regiment Other Ranks Cap Badge - Smith & Wright

A die struck gilding metal cap badge very dark toned or with a slightly bronzed finish applied. Signs of service wear, has the correct strengthening bar behind the crown and the correct naming style for this pattern of badge as made by Smith & Wright of Birmingham in WW1. Reinforcing bars are very common on King's Crown Royal Irish Regiment and Connaught Rangers badges where fitted with sliders.
