WW1 For Voluntary War Work In India tribute medal by H.M.Mint Calcutta - original box
A scarce original circa 1920's tribute medal 'For Voluntary War Work In India 1914 to 1919', oval blackened brass title surround, the fretted central device depicting the 'National Flower of India' a Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) in silver coloured floral decoration. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings and housed in its original presentation case, inscribed feintly in gold leaf to the inside lid 'H.M. Mint Calcutta'. Badge is circa 33mm tall.
