Malayan Federation Armoured Car Regiment Officer's cap badge, worn pre 1960
A scarce gilt and silver plated example on original loops. Exceptionally fine quality and delicate design, certainly not a mass produced item. Circa 3.6cms wide and 3.7cms tall. Crossed Kris on a horseshoe with mailed fist and engraved title scroll (there was an earlier pattern which lacked the horseshoe but was considered too delicate). Rare.
Formed 1st September 1952 and affiliated to 13th/18th Royal Hussars. Merged with Federation Regiment 1st January 1960 to form the Federation Reconnaissance Corps. Badge was worn for a short period only due to the time it took to issue, possibly for as little as 18 months.
