Malaysian Post Federation Reconnaissance Regiment Officer's Cap Badge
Silver plate and gilt, the thinly applied silver plate to the front of the badge has mainly worn off with service wear but traces still evident to the crossed Kris. Two original loops to the reverse. Circa 4cms wide and 3.4cms tall. Worn from 1960. Scarce.
In this design, the horseshoe of the previous incarnation (the Federation Armoured Car Regiment) was dropped and with a scroll and the one word "Peninjau" - the nearest Malay equivalent to the word "Reconnaissance". This unit was one of those which which provided detachments for service in the Congo after the Independence rising.
