WW2 Australian Army Jewish Chaplains Badge

WW2 blackened bronze die cast king's crown cap badge with two original loops and makers details for Luke Melbourne to the reverse as worn by Chaplains of the Jewish Faith. The Star of David surmounted by the crown. Some light wear to black finish otherwise in very good condition. Circa 3.8cms tall. Rare.

K.G. Luke was a self made man, going into jewelry/badge making as an apprentice at age 14. The first records of him owning his own shop was around 1920. He was really small time until WW2 when obviously production took off and his post war business boomed. He was a very well known dignitary in Victoria, Australia and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.
