Gilt Brass and Enamel with original pin fitting. Gilt bright no damage to enamel. Circa 32mm in diameter. Scarce.

A scarce original example of a 'West Hartlepools Commemoration of Peace 1919' end of war gilt and enamel lapel brooch badge depicting a peace dove, and reminding us of the attack on the town by both German battleships and Zeppelin airships. To the centre an enamelled West Hartlepool's coat of arms with additional scroll below 'FOR THY PROTECTION WE THANK THEE'.
