WW1 Royal Flying Corps RFC Stylized Brass Shoulder Title - Cut from Sheet Brass

An unusual pattern, possibly theatre made, not encountered before, and assumed to be related to Dominion air force units in South Africa or India, but happy to be corrected. Two original small thin loops soldered to reverse of thin cut brass sheet joined via a central strip "RFC". Reminiscent of the slouch hat badges cut from sheet brass in the Boer War. Any positive attribution most welcome.
