7th Queen's Own Hussars Indian Mess Orderlies Badge

A large and impressive sand cast badge which as been silver plated and retains its original and functional pin fitting (N-S) suggesting it was worn on the turban by an Indian Mess Waiter / Orderly when the Regiment was stationed in India (it served in the Indian Mutiny). A circlet surmounted by a QVC Victorian crown. Orb bent slightly back but still present and in good condition for age. A rare item, ther would only have been a handful of such orderlies employed in the Regiment. Circa 9.2cms tall and 6cms across. Rare.
