WW1 25th Battalion (Frontiersmen) Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) Cast Bronze Cap Badge
A WWI Kitchener's Army 2nd type theatre made cast bronze cap badge of the Kitchener Army 25th (Frontiersmen) Battalion, The Royal Fusiliers with original long slider to reverse (suitable for pagri use). '25' on ball of fused grenade with King's crown with a tri-part scroll inscribed 'Royal-Frontiersmen-Fusiliers'. Dark toned, in good condition, detail lacking as one would expect from a cast example. Made in East Africa which makes sense the Battalion served in Africa from 1915-19 mostly in Lake Tanganyika, British East Africa and German East Africa. Very distinctive lines to reverse of scroll as found on original examples.
K&K Vol 1 No 1143 refers (similar to this but the cast version without 'the stork' between the base of the ball of the grenade and the scroll).
