15th / 19th The King's Royal Hussars Officers Peaked Cap - Attributed

A field officer's peaked forage cap of the 15th/19th Hussars with plain gold thread embroidery, or passing, on the peak. Lieutenant-Colonels and Majors are 'field officers'. Hat made by Herbert Johnson of London, no size indicated but attributed with the initials "M.B.P" in gold lettering to the inside leather sweat band. In good condition when viewed from front with an officer's pattern gilt, silver plate and enamel cap badge to front, it has been sewn into the lining so I am unable to inspect it from the reverse, slight polishing to silver plated lion and crown on the badge. Correct silver plate crowns mounted on gilt cap buttons to side with black pattern leather chin strap. All items are QEII issue. Sadly some wear to back edge of cap and rim at the back and on one edge. Please see photos. However, it will look absolutely fine from front and sides if displayed.

From the 1989 Army List "MBP" appears to be Major M B Portman (300891), Squadron Commander, 15/19th The King's Royal Hussars.

Please note I would prefer not to send this item outside the UK without prior agreement. The postage price for overseas will be provided on request, but overseas buyers please do not order and pay for the hat until this has been communicated.
