WW2 Sudan Defence Force (SDF) Large Pattern White Metal Cap Badge
Sand cast plated cap badge depicting an armed native tribesman upon a camel above a tablet bearing the letters "S.D.F." with original central screw post to reverse. Circa 4.5cms tall. With green felt backing nicely cut to shape. In very good condition.
The Sudan Defence Force (SDF) was a British Army unit formed in 1925, as its name indicates, to maintain the borders of the Sudan under the British administration. During WW2, it also served beyond the Sudan in the East African Campaign and in the Western Desert Campaign.
