WW2 Medal Group Major J. B. Taylor, 8th Gurkha Rifles, Indian Army with MiD Certificate and Box of Issue

The medals (unnamed as issued) have been court mounted with new ribbons and the War Medal ribbon has a bronze oak leave for Mention in Despatches. The medals came together with an addressed empty box off issue (slip missing) to:

Major J.B. Taylor
Highfield
Trafalgar Street
Healey
Batley
Yorks

And the reverse confirms issued by Medal Section, Military Dept, Commonwealth Relations Office....

This is accompanied by an original MiD certificate named to Captain (temporary) J. B. Taylor / 8th Gurkha Rifles, Indian Army and is dated 5th April 1945. Still in glazed frame and with the name "Peggy" written on the reverse.

I suspect he served either with the 3rd or 4th Battalions of the 8th Gurkha Rifles. Worthy of further research. Any information welcome.
