Royal Berkshire Regiment White Metal Badge Pin Brooch - Victorian Regimental Police Arm Badge?

Circa 4.5cms in diameter, of two part construction in die struck white metal with original pin and c clasp fitting to the reverse. In very good condition with sharp detail. It appears to be a collar badge mounted on a "Douro Wreath" (see Churchill p213 for more information). A similar badge has been noted to the Hampshire Regiment, pre 1900 as a Regimental Police Arm Badge attributed and with notes identifying it as such. This at least would explain why it is in white metal. It does not look fancy enough to be a sweetheart. Pin to attach to a brassard perhaps? Any views most welcome and my thanks to Adam for a potential identification.
