WW2 Royal Observer Corps Officer's Central Device Removed from Bullion Backing

An applied gilt Elizabethan Coast Watcher standing on a gilt scroll inscribed “Forewarned is Forearmed”. This is part of a Royal Observer Corps post 1941 Officer’s cap badge - the central device only. It has its retaining wires intact. Sadly the badge backing for this has been removed and is absent. It would have been mounted on a cloth backing within bullion embroidered crowned laurel sprays.

See my item 65646 for how this would have looked when correctly mounted on the bullion embroidered badge backing. Still this is in excellent condition with bright gilt and if you have a poor example and the correct backing it could allow a useful upgrade of this scarce example of the wartime pattern.
