Indian Army - 4th Battalion (Wildes Rifles) 13th Frontier Force Regiment Cast Cap Badge on Original felt backing

A theatre made badge with two original loops (n-s) to the reverse. Appears to be have been plated byt back to the brass on the front. Mounted on an aged rectangle of blue felt cloth. This appears to be the original badge backing. Some fading to this.
Scarce.

In 1922 the 57th Wilde Rifles were renamed the 4th Battalion of the 13th Frontier Force Regiment. This is not the usual style of badge encountered (see my item 68096), possibly unofficially produced during WW2 when in North Africa. Any information welcome.
