Collection of WW1 Original Photographic Postcards and Embroidered Silk Cards sent by a Yorkshire Hussar
A collection of 11 photographs which all came together mainly depicting C Squadron of the Yorkshire Hussars prior to and during the Great War. Those sent to his sister were from George Henry Dixon, who was awarded a Territorial Efficiency Medal in 1912 and went on to serve as a acting Sergeant with them in WW1 and later when they came the 9th (Yorkshire Hussars) wet Yorkshire Regiment. One photo shows the officers of the quadron and another the Zeltand Vaults in Middleburgh. There is a great photo of what three butchers so perhaps George was part of a family business of Butchers when not galivanting around as a Territorial. The silk cards are mainly sentimental but addressed to his sister at a farm house in Easingwold, Yorks. Please note I will not split. A rare set of photos.
