XIXRH - 19th Royal Hussars Officer's Shoulder Title, Post 1908

A scarce officer's Roman numeral shoulder title in gilt brass with two original hexagonal style loops to the reverse. Signs of service wear but in generally good condition. This pattern from 1908 - 1922.

See the last photo for all four types of shoulder titles worn by this small cavalry regiment (Westlake only lists three). The other shoulder titles are listed elsewhere on this site for sale.

This pattern worn with the new cap badge introduced in the Dannebrog (Danish national device) in place of the distinctive Indian elephant as a consequence of the change in name from 19th Alexandra PWO Hussars to the title Queen Alexandra 's Own Royal Hussars in 1908. In 1922 they merged with the 15h Hussars to become the 15/19th Hussars.

Westlake No 178 refers.
