WW2 81st West African Division Embroidered Cloth Formation Sign Patch Flash Designation Badge - Burma

Removed from uniform, many loose black threads around the edges, easily removed, depicting a black to tarantula spider on a now grubby yellow background. So, unlike many of the unissued ones on many sites, this one has seen some real service.

They were from units of the West African Frontier Force and saw heavy fighting in the Burma campaign of WW2. Wingate's special force, trained in long range penetration, included one brigade from this Division.
