WW1 RND Royal Naval Division 8th Anson Battalion Gilding Metal Cap Badge - Gaunt Tablet

A rare and original die struck cap badge in the form of Double scrolls bearing the title and motto surmounted by the Coronet and spear. Two original loops (one slightly twised) and with the original strengthening bar behind the spear. A thin but upside down JR Gaunt /London plaque to reverse, maker's naming vaguely struck. As worn by the 8th (Anson) Battalion of the Second Royal Naval Brigade Royal Naval Division. Double scrolls bearing the title and motto surmounted by the Coronet and spear.
