Royal Devon Yeomanry Royal Field Artillery RFA Brass Cap Badge - 1924 only

A genuine unvoided example of this much copied badge with original long and tapering slider to the reverse. ONLY WORN for about 10 months from 24th April to 18th December 1924 as this is the very scarce pattern with " R.F.A." in place of the more usual second pattern encountered which has " Artillery " in the title. Circa 4cm tall. In very good condition with sharp detail but a slight touch of verdigris to the 'Y' in Yeomanry.

Note the differences in the size and pose of the lion, especially the over-extended and muscular front legs on the copy on the right, the less delicate lion's tail, without the brass supports, the larger crown and larger and cruder crest of Lord Rolle as the central device on the copy on the right, especially the lack of 3D on the base of the ducal coronet.
