Early Coldstream Guards Other Ranks Brass Gilding Metal Cap Badge

An early square pattern die struck cap badge with sharp detail and two original D shaped loops to the reverse (some verdigris to reverse of one loop) otherwise in very good condition.

Kipling & King attribute this squarer pattern badge as worn on the Brodrick cap, 1902-1905. Later patterns had more of a scalloped edge between the rays (see my item 68696 for comparison to the later pattern).
