This white plume was / is worn on a feather bonnet worn by the Highland Regiments in the British Army. It is made from chicken feathers and mounted on an aluminum bar. Circa 28cm in length. Colour is a bit off white now from service wear, but otherwise in good condition and would suit an older bonnet. Comes in a home made green card tube.

Nicely engraved with Georgian monogram and crown, as worn 1796 - 1832 when their use was finally abolished. Nicely rolled edges turned over wires to give this distinctive shape. Leather lining and silk ribbon for suspension missing and gilt finish now back to base metal. Some staining and light scratching. Blackened inside. No damage, dents or repairs. A good honest example.

Scarlet tunic with gosling green facings, white metal collar badges and king's crown buttons. The 4th Battalion previously wore grey tunics from but by 1910 the scarlet jacket, with gosling green facings was being introduced of which this is one.
