Pre WW1 Surreys (2nd Battalion East Surrey Regiment) Brass Shoulder Title
Slightly larger than the usual E.Surrey title with two original loops to the reverse (see final photo for a comparison between the two, the E. Surrey title beinf sold elsewhere on this site - see item 63954). According to Westlake (p90) worn only by the 2nd Battalion in India just prior to the outbreak of WW1. Grenade / RWF (Royal Welsh Fusiliers) Early Two Part Brass Shoulder Title
The Grenade is die struck with two original dark toned loops. The RWF is cast brass with two original but thin copper loops (some service wear). Possibly theatre made when in India. Westlake claims RWF was worn from 1898. Owner claims this was made in 1881 when they first became the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.

As worn from 1910 by regular soldiers or from 1908 by various Territorial Soldiers with the addition of a T and battalion number above. Worn by soldiers on the Service Dress jacket. A rare small pattern shoulder title as worn in the Service Dress jacket of the Tyneside Scottish Service Battalions of the Northumberland Fusiliers with two original loops to the reverse.
