An Edwardian King's Crown blackened brass glengarry badge for the Border Rifle Volunteers. Some rippling and bending from service wear but in generally good condition complete with two of two original loops to reverse (some bending to these). Circa 53mm tall and 36mm wide. Of two part construction with two original screw posts (without nuts) to the reverse an circular maker's mark bearing the maker's details "J.R.Gaunt & Son Ltd., London". Peter Brydon identifies this as the Officer's Sporran Cantle Badge (Plate 6, Fig 5 refers). Looks silver plated.

Scarce white metal king's crown glengarry badge with two original loops and makers details for Gaunt London to the reverse in the form of a small brass plaque. The Star of the Order of the Thistle bearing double title scrolls, 'Highland Cyclists' and 'Battalion T.F '. This one with Lacesset spelling.
Slightly curved / domed. An original example of a much copied badge.

7th Volunteer Battalion (VB) The Royal Scots Pair of White Metal Collar Badges , 1904 - 1908 only
Miniature versions of the glengarry badge, this unit wore collar badges of a small size from 1904 until 1908 only. Die struck in white metal with two original loops to the reverse (some service wear to these). Not an exact match but display reasonably well together. Circa 26mm tall. Rare.

Cambridge University Rifle Volunteers (CURV) Blackened Metal Shoulder Belt Plate
This is an original Victorian blackened metal shoulder belt plate. It consists of the arms of Cambridge University with entwined initials CURV as a monogram at the top. The rear has its original 2 screw posts. In very good condition with sharp detail and no damage.

Border Rifle Volunteers Edwardian Officers Pouch Belt Plate
A fine die-stamped blackened post 1901 example, with burnished silver highlights. Crowned star mounted with circlet inscribed “BORDER RIFLE VOLUNTEERS”; to the centre, the crowned heart with scroll above inscribed “DOE OR DIE”. Two screw posts to reverse but missing its securing nuts. Rare as worn only from 1902 - 1908. A touch of verdigris to reverse otherwise simply gorgeous.
