WAFF West African Frontier Force Pair of Brass Shoulder Titles

An early pair of titles, as worn from 1906 - 1928. Each circa 4.8cms wide and 1.2cms tall. In good worn condition, minor bending to loops and the loops appear to be of different lengths otherwise a close match.

An early full size example as worn on the slouch hat with three of three original loops to the reverse. Mounted wheel, fixed in place so does not turn. King's crown so pre 1952. Scarce Sierra Leone Battalion ' SLBn ' brass shoulder title, British made with J.R. Gaunt London stamped to the reverse with both of its original lugs. Worn circa 1901-28. In good condition.

The British colony of Sierra Leone contributed one battalion of infantry to the West African Field Force. It was formed from personnel of the Sierra Leone Frontier Police.
