Special Air Service (SAS) Volunteers Lot
An unusual grouping, comprising a late 1960s issue beret badge which came with two A Squadron 23 SAS headed paper letters, one which responded to a request for their badge, and other with a two sided SAS history stapled to it, the reverse with terms of service for the volunteer or territorial SAS regiments which would have been common to 21 and 23 SAS.

WW2 Larger Pattern Embroidered Army Flying Qualification Badge Glider Pilot Wing
Introduced in late 1942. In superb unworn condition still with original paper backing. Padded and colours bright. Not usually found in such condition. White thread to front does not react to UV light. On black felt background Just superb and rare, especially in this condition. Circa 11.4cms across, wing tip to wing tip.

A rare two part '44' and 'Royal Marines' red on blue embroidered cash tapes style shoulder title, removed from uniform (missing the final 'Commando' three part piece strip). '44' in good condition. 'Royal Marines' edges have some ragging and a bit of damage.
44 RM Commando was formed in mid 1943 and served in the Far East.

WW2 Special Forces - Commando Signals Embroidered Red on Black Felt Cloth Shoulder Title
Removed from uniform, in very good condition. Some traces of glue to the reverse.
Formed in 1942 and attached to Commando HQ. There were two signalmen per Commando Troop. This is the second pattern introduced later in 1942 (previously it had been white on black). Army Commando Royal Engineers Officers Bullion Cap Badge - Green Backing
In unissued condition, circa 5.6cm tall. Worn by units of the Army 24 Commando Royal Engineer Regiment HQ North Devon. Worn by officers of the 54, 56 and 59 Squadrons and 131 T.A. Volunteers, the latter HQ in London. The classic RE grenade in gold bullion on green background signifying a Commando.

Parachutist (non-operational) Silver Bullion ' Light Bulb ' Proficiency Arm Badge
Silver bullion thread on black felt circular disk, circa 4.5cm in diameter, with hessian backing. In very good condition with some age to it.
Apparently awarded for having completed four parachute jumps but that the individual so awarded had not been called forward for operational duties. Nicknamed Light Bulb men. See Edwards & Langley No 88.
