An original numbered vellum certificate issued to William Pearce born in Milor in Cornwall in 1814, but dated 1857, issued by the Board of Trade and stating he had 23 years in the Mercantile Marine including achieving the rank of Master. White metal anchor to centre, bullion in good condition. has been worn and curved to a jaunty shape to fit cap (stiffened into this shape). No moth. Original waxed black cotton backing. Circa 7cm tall and 5cm wide at crown. Pre 1952. Blue jewel to centre of band of crown indicates this is a post 1920 issue.

A scarce enamel and gilt brass metal lapel pin brooch badge with original and functional pin fittings (also seen one with a horseshoe buttonhole fitting).
Maker marked Walker & Hall Sheffield & Newcastle Upon Tyne. There is some surface scratching and marks to the enamel but it is intact. The light blue has overrun slightly during the firing process otherwise in good condition.
