A stirring image of volunteers from the Napoleonic times to the Volunteers of 1860s and beyond, cajoling an idle gentleman of means ( or a rake!) to join the territorial / auxiliary forces. Postally unused and in good condition (some minor staining to reverse). Taken in Chatham, Kent circa 1910. One older soldier wears a QSA and the younger man next to him is wearing a Royal Humane Society Medal on his right breast. A good image.
