WW1 Manchester Regiment Bi-metal Cap Badge
A good example of the ' tram conductors ' badge, with original slider and crimp mark to the reverse. A good stiff badge with sharp detail, but some verdigris to the edges of the globe and the 'T" of Manchester on the scroll. This pattern was dropped in favour of the fleur-de-lys cap badge adopted in 1923.

Circa 5cm tall by 5.8cm wide. One rough edge between scroll on left handside where the metal has not been cut out as cleanly as it could have been at t... read more
Original British Cap badge slider only ( from York & Lancaster Regiment Cap Badge) - stamped Stratton Birmingham - one for the badge historian!
This came off a damaged York & Lancs Regiment Bi-metal Cap Badge, long since moved on as a damaged item and I failed to notice at the time that the detached slider has stamped on the inside (unusual in itself) - Stratton Birmingham. Anyway, the slider is of interest to those collecting interesting marks. It is original and the naming is over two lines and the letters are roughly 1.5m... read more

A solid non-voided version of the regular cap badge, a very indistinct striking in bronzy / coppery finish, which looks cheap and poorly struck, but has its loops correctly located e-w and at the very edge of the badge. The reverse shows the correct bronze patina, which has been polished off mainly to front ( 1st - 8th City Battalions). Circa 5cm wide and 4.2cm tall. Slight twistin... read more
