Blackened cast brass with two integral lugs to the reverse. Circa 4.5cm wide and 1.6cm tall. In very good condition and rare.

The Uganda Rifles were a pre 1902 unit who were the predecessors of the 4th and 5th ( Uganda ) Battalions of the King's African Rifles.

A rare officer's solid silver cap badge (stamped silver) with original pin fitting for wear on the pagri. Also has a small loop fitted for a safety chain, no longer present. An attractive and scarce set as worn in WW2, Cap has slider and is slightly darker in colour than the collars. Collars are matched pair with two integral lugs to each (north-south). Cap is on original slider. All locally made in East Africa and die cast. Cap badge and collars are all 4.7cm tall. Collars have better definition than the cap badge. Worn circa 1939 - 1945 only.
