4th ( Uganda ) King's African Rifles ( KAR ) Officer's Silver Pagri Cap Badge - Maker marked Dobbies
A rare officer's solid silver cap badge (stamped silver) with original pin fitting for wear on the pagri. Also has a small loop fitted for a safety chain, no longer present. Maker marked Dobbies Ltd on the reverse. See Renfrew et al, Vol 1, page 97 for a photograph of an officer wearing this pattern in his cap. Circa 4.3cm tall.

WW2 East African Army Medical Corps Cap Badge and Collar Set
An attractive and scarce set as worn in WW2, Cap has slider and is slightly darker in colour than the collars. Collars are matched pair with two integral lugs to each (north-south). Cap is on original slider. All locally made in East Africa and die cast. Cap badge and collars are all 4.7cm tall. Collars have better definition than the cap badge. Worn circa 1939 - 1945 only.

NEAS - South African Native Labour Corps Cast Gilt Brass Cap Badge.
N.E.A.S = Non European Army Services - formed in 1940 and was effectively the South African Native Labour Corps. Only one original lug remains. Not the usual pattern. Circa 5.5cm tall and 3.4cm wide.

4th Egyptian Infantry Headdress Brass Cap Badge
See Volume 2 of the highly recommended "British Colonial Badges Volume II" by Barry Renfrew et al, as item no 2294. Two original fixing posts to the reverse which have rusted. Circa 2.9cm tall. Missing its black square backing cloth. Circa 1890. May also have been worn by 4th Sudanese Infantry.
This pattern, but with different fixings was worn in brass by 4th KAR.
South African Basutoland Territories Cap Badge
Gilt brass king's crown cap badge with two original lugs to the reverse, worn by the Basutoland High Commission Territory Corps ( HCT ). The centre bears the monogram HCT, above the scroll Basutoland. Some light verdigris to front and around the lugs on the reverse. Circa 4.1cm tall. Scarce.
