On par with the size of a cap badge, nicely die cast but heavy badge and looks lto have been made of a low grade silver (untested) with two original screw posts to the reverse. Unmarked silver field service cap badge with pin fitting to the reverse. The number " 5 " surmounted by the Royal Crest within a pair of crossed kukris.
The Royal Crest was adopted in 1927. This pattern was worn by Officers on the forage cap and service dress cap from 1927 to 1947. Dimensions are 26mm high and 31mm wide as per item D26 in the publication detailed below.
