An early and attractive heavy cast silver plated piper's badge with two original silvered loops to the reverse with cut to shape green felt backing. In excellent condition. Circa 5.6cm wide and 4.5cm tall. See my item 59860 for a later chromed version of this badge. Scarce.

1st (City of Dundee) Volunteer Battalion Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) White Metal Forage Cap Badge
Die struck in white metal with two long copper loops to the reverse. Circa 4.2cms tall as per most cap badges. At first I would have thought this was a sporran device but Bloomer claims this was worn by the band on the cap. Scarce.

78th Ross-shire Buffs forage cap pre 1881, modified
A 78th Ross-shire Buffs yellow brass die struck forage cap badge with three dark toned loops to the reverse but with the top number '78' removed.
