Victorian White Metal British Volunteer Artillery Forage Cap Badge - Larger Pattern (Grenadier Guards Style)
As worn on the pill box or peaked cap by many Volunteer Artillery Other Ranks across the Kingdom, a white metal grenade with seventeen flames (Grenadier Guards pattern but in white metal) with two original toned loops to the reverse but these have been reinforced or re-secured with lead solder. A very large bullion panel in superb condition on a black felt oval. No damage or mothing. King's crown. I suspect for mounting on a panel / banner for a member of the band. Possibly to large for a piper's banner but happy to be corrected. A massive 19cms tall and superb.

King's crown silver gilt and enamel die cast of two part construction cap or stole badge with pin fitting to the reverse (c clasp bent over trapping the pin). No damage to enamel. Gilt and silver plate bright. A quatrefoil to the centre of a voided circlet bearing the motto backed with blue enamel upon a Maltese cross within a crowned wreath of oak and laurel.
